It is understandable for law students to be happy about the future. After all, a job as a lawyer is respectable and potentially lucrative. Much to the surprise of many law students, especially those from lower-tier law schools, is that there are plenty of inaccuracies that have been presented to them. So, what are their reasons for wanting to sue their alma maters? Here are some reasons.

Law schools present unrealistic employment possibilities.

Several law schools have enticed students to enroll into their institutions by presenting a brighter look at job prospects. Usually, they say that 90% of their graduates are able to find a job right after graduation. This is not the case, really. When confronted about
employment rates, the schools defend themselves by saying that the students should be aware of the employment reality, anyway.

Law schools include non-legal jobs in the data.

The problem with many law schools is that they include the non-legal jobs in their data. So, even a law school graduate who gets a part-time job as a secretary gets counted in the data.

Law schools inaccurate reports can affect rankings.

These inaccurate reports also affect the rankings of law schools. Law schools get a higher ranking for the higher employment rates that they report. These create a cycle of inaccuracies and misrepresentation because a higher ranking will again entice more law students to enroll.

While the law school graduates may not sue, the institutions should still be wary about continuing its practice of misrepresentation. It will catch up with them, eventually.
