In schools that value international student services, foreign students are provided with all the support that they need in going to a college in the United States. They are given assistance because college is difficult enough without having to go through it in foreign country. These are what

They offer separate orientations.

We all know that colleges have general freshman orientations. With international student services, however, there is a separate orientation before the general orientations. International students are given some sort of head start in terms of getting to know what the college can offer to them.

They provide a welcoming atmosphere.

International student services know the importance of people finding someone who can share the same belief, culture and experiences. So, they connect international students with people coming from the same country, practicing the same religion or sharing the same ethnicity. This way, foreign students can find a semblance of home way from home.

They help in job hunting.

Unfortunately, international students do not have the same job opportunities that American students have. So, student services direct them to a career development center that caters to foreign students.

To sum it all up, student service offices can help make life a lot easier for an international student.
